It's Time for the Wearing of the Green

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day, CHS! March 17, 2021, we will celebrate Saint Patrick’s day for the 420th year this year! Americans celebrated what’s known as “Saint Patrick’s Day” since 1601. St. Patrick was a 5th- century missionary to Ireland and later served as a bishop there. Before the end of the 7th century, St. Patrick was a legend and is a legend as of today. The most famous tale is that of the shamrock, which explained the Holy Trinity’s concept. We celebrate Saint Patrick’s day to commemorate Saint Patrick and Christianity’s arrival in Ireland and celebrate the Irish culture and the heritage in general. According to old folklore, or a traditional belief passed down from generation to generation, you get pinched on Saint Patrick’s day for not wearing green because green makes you invisible to leprechauns and leprechauns like to pinch people, just because they can! Make sure you wear green for the upcoming Saint Patrick’s day; otherwise, a tiny leprechaun might pinch you!
