The Cimarron Boys Golf Team had two tournaments in the last couple of weeks; one at the Holcomb invite at Buffalo Dunes in Garden City and the other at the Lakin Invite in Lakin. Cimarron did a good job at Buffalo Dunes, shooting a team combined score of 350, and they placed 1st as a team. Individual scores were: Tate-79, Josh-84, Blake-92, Andrew-95, Clay-98, Colby-102. Cimarron had three placers: Tate-1st, Josh-4th, Blake-14th. When asked about his varsity debut, senior Clay Frink said, “Well, I was nervous, but it felt good to get out on the course finally, and I did better than I thought I would.”

At the Lakin Invite, the boys did even better as they cut 28 strokes off their score, getting down to a team score of 322. Individual scores were: Seabolt-71, Weishapl-77, Schilling-85, Pfeifer-89, Johnsno-96, and Frink-104. Individual placers were: Seabolt- 1st, Weishapl- 2nd, Schilling- 3rd, Pfeiffer- 6th, and Johnson- 14th. Seabolt, who placed first, was awarded the Lakin Invite Green Jacket.  Each year the winner of the Lakin tournament wins the opportunity to take the “green jacket” back to their school.  This year, the jacket made its way back to CHS.  Seabolt commented on how it felt to win the jacket. He said, “I always thought it was cool, but to finally get to wear it, it felt like a different experience.”
