Bluejays Look to Complete Season Sweep over Tigers

The Cimarron Bluejays basketball squads look to complete a season sweep over the Ulysses Tigers as they will face off tonight. The last time these two clubs met up, the Lady Jays and Bluejays were victorious.

The Lady Jays outscored the Lady Tigers by 47 points as they came out on top at home by 71-24. The key for Cimarron, in my opinion, is to continue the defensive pressure that they’ve developed in the past few games. The Lady Jays have not won a game this season when allowing 50 or more points, so playing lockdown and gritty defense will be a primary key for a win. Ulysses, however, has not scored 30+ points in a game besides in their two wins. If the Lady Jays can play solid on the defensive end of the court, they should have no problem getting the win in Ulysses.

The Bluejays men’s team has three wins on the year out of 16, and one of them is against the Tigers. Cimarron outplayed Ulysses in that game, taking the win by a score of 35-22, thanks to a huge defensive stand in the third quarter as the Bluejays didn’t give up a single point during that period.

Ulysses has had a tough season, with only one win. The Tigers come into this game 1-12 on the year, with their only win coming against Central Plains. The key for the Bluejays to take a win at Ulysses is to stay controlled and not let a scoring run affect them. If they can control their mental game and stay level-headed, I see them winning by at least 15 points.
